Engineering Standards

Adoption of Standards

In September of 1998 and 2002, the Board of Aldermen made significant amendments to the Town Engineering Standards and Construction Drawings found in Charter 36 of the Code of Ordinances. Over the years the Town Council has approved amendments to individual articles within Chapter 36 to include the following:

2022 Amendment to Engineering Standards

New Drawings

The update to the Engineering Design Standards and Construction Drawings provides additional detail to the standards bringing it in alignment with the Town’s current Comprehensive Plan, current state regulations, regional storm drainage design requirements, construction standards, and material requirements used for the construction of Town infrastructure.

The proposed engineering design standards and construction drawings are the most current edition of the "Standard Specifications for Public Works Construction" published under the North Central Texas Council of Governments (NCTCOG) authority. This proposed latest edition and the amendments and special provisions to the document, approved or issued by the Town, shall comprise the Standard Specifications.

Conflict

In the event of a conflict, the Standard Specifications shall be superseded by the provisions and requirements of this document, or the acceptance of the Town Engineer or his designee. Only the item or items of conflict shall be affected. All other provisions and requirements shall stand.
