In our continued effort to serve you efficiently and responsibly, the Town of Westlake will transition to a 4-day workweek for administrative offices, effective the week of August 25. Town Hall will be open to the public Monday through Thursday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, and closed on Fridays. So, what does this mean to you?
No Disruption to Essential Services
The Fire and Police Departments will continue to operate 7 days a week. Our Public Works Department’s schedule will remain Monday through Friday without change, ensuring the safety and day-to-day needs of our community are always met.
Saving Taxpayer Dollars
This change is expected to save the Town an estimated $25,000 annually in utility costs by reducing energy usage and operating expenses on Fridays.
Minimal In-Person Visits on Fridays
Town Hall averages fewer than three walk-in visitors each Friday, with most guests arriving for pre-scheduled meetings. Shifting to a four-day schedule allows us to align our hours with when we are most needed, without sacrificing service.
No Impact to Westlake Academy Services
Shared services provided to the Academy will continue five days a week, and additional support will be provided upon request, ensuring no disruption to the school or its operations.
Expanded Court Office Hours
Our Municipal Court staff will now be available Monday through Thursday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. On court days, the court office will close at 3:30 PM to allow for proceedings scheduled to begin at 3:45 PM. Court staff will be available to assist the public following the adjournment of court.
