If you'd like to apply to be on Town Council, now's your chance. There is currently an open seat that had been vacated before the term was up. Residents can apply to be appointed for the current Town Council vacancy that would be filled through the May 4th election. Whoever fills this vacancy could also run for Council if they wish during this election cycle. (file dates of Jan 17-Feb 16 to be on May 4th ballot) This would be for a one-year unexpired term.
We will accept appointment applications for the current vacancy from now until it's filled. Prior Board or Commission experience preferred. Council will review applications at the February 26th Town Council meeting and could take action if necessary.

Candidate Qualifications
Below is an explanation of three different processes we are utilizing for our Town Council vacancy and upcoming elections.
(1) Process for Appointment to fill TC vacancy:
The appointment application to fill the current Town Council vacancy (Short term – ends this May) has been posted online. (Council must vote to appoint this member). Applications will be accepted through end of January. The council will review applications and may make an appointment at the February 26 meeting.
(2) Process for Special Election: (To fill 1 year unexpired term)
The Town must call a Special Election to fill the unexpired term ending May 2025. This person would only serve one year. The Special Election would be held jointly with our General Election.
(3) General Election (To fill Mayor & 2 Council Seats full term)
The Town Council must also call a General Election to fill the Mayor and two Council seats with terms ending this May. These seats are full 2-year terms. Applications will be accepted January 17 thru February 16th. See above candidate forms and candidate binders are available in the Town Secretary’s office.
