History of the Cemetery
Thanks to the dedication of the Roanoke I.O.O.F. Cemetery Association, the cemetery has sustained itself and continued to thrive for over 100 years.
In May of 2007, Charles Richard (Dick) Fanning, then president of the Roanoke Cemetery Association, entrusted the Town of Westlake with the perpetual care and restoration of the cemetery. It was officially deeded over to the Town in November 2007. On April 19, 2010, the Town Council passed an ordinance to establish the Rules and Regulations of the cemetery, as well as changed the name to the I.O.O.F. Westlake Cemetery.
