Available Services

The Westlake Fire-EMS Department provides paramedic level ambulance service to the citizens of Westlake and those that work in the many businesses located in our community. Only emergency ambulance services can be provided.

Note: Westlake Fire-EMS cannot transport patients to a doctor’s office, a clinic or a nursing home.

Staffing

The Westlake Fire-EMS Department staffs a Mobile Intensive Care Unit (MICU), as well as a paramedic engine company that includes advanced life support capabilities. Both of the units contain state-of-the-art equipment for emergency medical care.

About our Medical Director

The Westlake Fire-EMS Department operates under the "BEST EMS" medical group with Robert Hancock DO, FACEP, serving as our Medical Director.

Dr. Hancock is currently an emergency medicine physician at Baylor/Scott & White Regional Medical Center at Grapevine where he serves as Vice-Chair for the Emergency Department. Additionally, he is a member of the board of directors of the Texas College of Emergency Physicians. Dr. Hancock was also an Assistant Clinical Professor of Surgery at UT Southwestern from 2010 - 2015.

Dr. Hancock believes that the Fire/EMS system is a critical element of emergency medicine, and that early intervention and treatment provided by paramedics often makes the difference between life and death. He has established medical protocols for the Westlake Fire-EMS Department that are designed to provide optimal care for all of the citizens of Westlake.
